110805: Scale?
“When and Why to Scale”
Scaling an exercise or the entire WOD are done depending on a large variety of reasons. When looking at an individual exercise one has to take in consideration, the number of sets, reps per set and total number of reps. Then what exercises are accompanying the exercise in the WOD. The athletes ability is taken into consideration. What is there fitness level, beginner, intermediate, or advanced, and what is there 1 RM or Max Unbroken for the movement. Last, but most important is the athletes abiltity to maintain SOLID FORM through out the entire WOD! All of these factors are taken into careful consideration, and the goal optimize your Power(Work/Time) output! Sometimes this even means scaling above the prescription if the situation calls for it.
